Turning devices into powerful translators and much more: Konica Minolta upgrades bizhub Evolution

| 7 August 2019

Konica Minolta’s flexible cloud-based platform for office workflows and communication, bizhub Evolution, has been upgraded to include a powerful new translation service to enable users to seamlessly translate documents while also keeping the document format. The solution is equipped with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered engine and utilises a self-learning algorithm to deliver its translations. All this can be processed via mobile, desktop computer or Konica Minolta’s bizhub devices.

Since its introduction in 2016, the convenient and flexible smart services platform bizhub Evolution has stood at the core of Konica Minolta’s connected office solution. It offers on-demand document processing and other cloud services, including converting digital or paper-based documents into a multitude of formats and translating them into another language. The AI-based translation update, which is available from August, relies on the technology of a proven and very innovative translation service provider, while the included conversion engine for document format recovery has been developed by Konica Minolta. Besides the high translation quality, five additional languages have been included in the service. Translation is now possible for German, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Dutch and Russian. It is part of bizhub Evolution’s value package – customers who have already subscribed to the translation service will automatically enjoy the advantages of the upgrade – without any additional costs.

In its Buyers Lab report 2018, Keypoint Intelligence awarded bizhub Evolution a gold rating and described the platform as being “unique to the market”. More than 400 clients, such as Lufthansa, have been using the cloud-based services, which are available and integratively usable over all devices, including PCs, Smartphones, Tablets and bizhub MFPs.

bizhub Evolution also attracts attention with its cost-efficiency and its flexible nature. Despite its breadth of services and tools, businesses only need to pay for what they actually use. The platform offers an affordable way to access specific features such as secure pull printing, cloud fax, document conversion and much more without needing to invest in an expensive dedicated solution.
