Konica Minolta announces first European customer for AccurioLabel 400 digital label press

Langenhagen, Germany | 29 March 2023

Imprimerie Coste & Fils, based in Aubenas (Ardèche), France, is continuing its digital transformation strategy by becoming the first European customer to invest in the AccurioLabel 400 digital label press from market leader Konica Minolta in a “true partnership approach”.

Commercial offset and label printing is benefiting from the seismic shift to shorter runs and just-in-time production, where label printers and converters need the highest quality and a good return on investment.

Imprimerie Coste & Fils invested four years ago in Konica Minolta's AccurioLabel 230 press and a GM DC330Mini finishing system to expand and improve the services it offers customers. The new investment is another example of an evolving market where more and more converters and print providers invest heavily in digital production.

"Digital label production offers us real opportunities to grow our business profitably, which is why we are delighted to become the first European customer of the AccurioLabel 400," said Anthony Fambon, co-owner of Imprimerie Coste & Fils with his brother Nicolas. "The robustness, ease of use and outstanding quality of the machines are the main reasons for our decision to invest in Konica Minolta systems again. This is a true partnership approach; we have received advice and support from Konica Minolta's experienced and knowledgeable staff to help us further develop our business in markets such as labels."

We see multiple opportunities for customers such as Imprimerie Coste & Fils who want to take advantage of the printing possibilities and opportunities towards new applications that only digital production can achieve. The AccurioLabel 400 pushes the boundaries of automation, speed, flexibility and colour capabilities. It continues to advance and migrate work from traditional flexo and offset technologies.

The AccurioLabel 400 was introduced last May by Konica Minolta. It aims to capture a significant share of a fast-growing medium- to high-volume sector, which includes around 3,000 label converters.

Key innovations of the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 400 press include the ability to expand applications with white toner, improved productivity with ultra-fast print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute, and further reductions in operating costs through even longer part life and improved print quality. It is available in 4 and 5 colour configurations.
