Firus Druck refines even the best drop with Konica Minolta

Langenhagen, Germany | 18 April 2023

Firus Druck now produces with the new digital label printing system AccurioLabel 400 from Konica Minolta. The family-run print shop from Kröv thus offers its central customer base from the Moselle wine-growing region a decisive competitive advantage: wine labels with a wow effect for the region's best drops. Thanks to high-quality printing with subsequent finishing and controlled by a digital workflow, serves Firus current customer requirements even faster and more impressively in the future.

Firus Druck, a long-standing Konica Minolta customer, has invested in an AccurioLabel 400. The printing house from the Mosel valley is thus one of the first buyers of the digital label printing system, which has been on the market since the beginning of 2023. "With the new label system, we can offer our customers small or medium runs quickly and cost-effectively. Looking at the technical data and taking a look at the total cost of ownership, the AccurioLabel 400 is extremely competitive," says Sebastian Firus, managing director at Firus Druck. With print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute, the press ensures high productivity. In addition the total length per job can be increased can be adjusted to  up to 3,000 running metres, thus greatly increasing the capacity and speed of print production.

The family business specialises in the production and finishing of labels. Because the bulk of the majority of the company's 200 or so customers are small wineries that attach importance not only to a fine wine but also to eye-catching labels. Two years ago, the young entrepreneur took over the printing company and set it up for the future by investing in an AccurioLabel 190. Alongside wet-glue labels and high-quality business stationery Firus Druck also produces self-adhesive labels digitally according to individual customer requirements .For finishing, for example with gold foil, a Grafisk a DC330 Mini from Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) is used for finishing. With the help of digital label printing, the Kröv plant produces promotional and informative adhesive labels that attract the attention of buyers. With this new investment, Firus can now further expand its profile as an advertising effectiveness consultant and printing company in one.

A competitive advantage for the printing company is its ability to produce in an unusual and eye-catching way - for example with white toner. This is why the AccurioLabel 400 offers white as an optional 5th colour. In general, white toner is ideal for producing directly onto colored media. In contrast to the usual font colour, white stands out more and leaves a much stronger impression. The AccurioLabel 400 also scores points in terms of sustainability, which is increasingly in the focus of customers. Thanks to the digital printing process and in conjunction with Konica Minolta Intelligent Quality Care, it is particularly fast in printing, produces exactly as required and thus saves a great deal of paper and toner as well as energy, thereby generating a lower CO2 footprint.

Choosing an AccurioLabel 400 is more than just an investment. It is part of a strategy that will last for years. We are delighted that Firus has opted for the AccurioLabel 400. With our know-how and new technologies, we are working together to move towards the future and thus make Firus Druck's business successful in the long term.
