Capture the true colour of life with the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C84hc series

Creative commercial printers can reproduce bright vivid colours even more consistently with the Konica Minolta AccurioPress C84hc series featuring high chroma toner, which is being launched today.

The 81ppm AccurioPress C84hc from Konica Minolta opens up wider application possibilities such as studio photo, photo book, nature photos and web-to-print orders for commercial printers, dedicated design houses, advertising agencies, corporates and brands. It is especially suited to the reproduction of certain colours, for example global brands with exacting colour requirements.

As the world’s only platform that uses the toner that is free of the restrictions imposed by the colour gamut of ordinary toners, Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C84hc series enables the reproduction of brighter, clearer colours. The high chroma gamut delivers natural skin tones while the unique saturation of greens, blues, purples, pinks, and magentas, create more natural impressive results not previously possible.

This is achieved with:

  • Enhanced light blue / green - combining the wider colour gamut and higher L* value of high chroma cyan toner than that of CMYK toner, clear and bright colours can be maintained especially for bright blue and green.

  • Enhanced pink/purple/magenta - by utilizing high chroma magenta toner, vivid and clear pink and purple colours can be obtained.

Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C84hc is the only series that can print both high chroma colour and standard colours with a single engine. As a result, the superior colour gamut of the AccurioPress C84hc is maximised by using RGB images, allowing customers to experience a new world of colour reproducibility unachievable with the old CMYK toners.

It prints in “Standard” where printed colours are very close to the results printed with CMYK toner but the light blue, green and pink areas are clearer, and “Saturation” where the high chroma gamut is maximised to reproduce bright blues, greens, pinks, and other shades that cannot be reproduced as well as with CMYK toner. This is something existing presses will also be able to offer as they will be able to switch to the high chroma inks.

“Creative operations no longer have to settle for dull and muddy colours,” explains Ines Wennemann, Senior Product Manager Professional Printing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. The high L* value helps to create smooth and less grainy skin tone perfect photo related applications while the vivid brights ensure a whole range of printed applications from posters, cards, photobooks, and catalogues pop. This provides a huge point of differentiation from other printers and fuels exciting conversations with innovative brands and clients. It supports extremely colourful jobs to help operations develop new opportunities, maintain existing relationships, and expand possibilities for their clients.”

Konica Minolta’s newest Accurio portfolio addition incorporates latest finishing technologies – including Konica Minolta’s unique TU-510 system. It builds on the colour reproducibility technology of the AccurioPress C83hc and the work efficiency of the AccurioPress C4080 series. The C84hc is the fifth generation of the machine.

Simple and easy to implement colour management and accuracy is further supported by AccurioPro ColorManager, part of Konica Minolta’s software portfolio. The suite is a combination of tools that validates and controls colour quality of while maximising the throughput of the fleet and increasing print room efficiency. This empowers printing companies to provide printed materials that meet customer demands.

Performance is also elevated with Konica Minolta’s Auto Inspection Technology (AIT). Designed as fully automated, closed loop inspection technology, AIT automatically inspects every individual printed sheet and makes sure that only those sheets meeting exacting requirements are delivered. It detects any problems such as dirt, sub-standard imagery or incorrect page orders.
