Konica Minolta enhances automation with Auto Inspection Technology launch

| 1 April 2019

Print providers looking for easy, efficient and reliable print production are now benefiting from Konica Minolta’s Auto Inspection Technology, another innovation in its Intelligent Quality Care System IQ-501.

Launched this month, Konica Minolta’s enhanced technology – known as AIT – automatically inspects every individual printed sheet and makes sure that only those sheets meeting exacting requirements are delivered.

Designed as fully automated, closed loop inspection technology, AIT detects any problems such as dirt, sub-standard imagery or incorrect page orders. Automatic reporting is accessible via a web browser and any reprints required are automatically generated.

AIT supports the AccurioPress series of production presses and all finishing modules, including books and brochures. It boosts productivity and ensures that any misprints are kept to a minimum, while cutting out the need for manual inspection and intervention. Excess prints are no longer required, which enables customers to reduce costs and generate higher margins.

The innovative IQ-501 for Intelligent Quality Care takes consistency and registration accuracy to new levels. Performing with the assistance of smart machine automation, it saves time and creates additional value for printing businesses and their customers.
