Firus Druck serves a diverse client base across Germany from Mosel, recognised as one of the best-known wine regions in Germany. Helping customers with their own different challenges and retaining personal contact is vital for Firus Druck in today’s world of information overflow and ultra-fast communication.
The company has been operating for more than 30 years and is a long-standing Konica Minolta customer. It started off using flexo and offset, but now prints most of its print jobs digitally. Firus Druck can offer a more personalised service, particularly with business support provided by Konica Minolta.
Graphic professionals need to achieve consistent colours across all communication channels, not just print. Firus Druck has set up its own design and graphics department. This enables staff in-house to show clients layouts, colours and advise on best options.
The wine label signifies a great deal to a winemaker – it reflects the brand. Achieving high-definition colour would help Firus Druck diversify into other markets and target new customers. From its roots as a label printer, high-quality digital technology with the High Chroma toner would enable the company to expand into other printing products around wines, such as menus, price lists and other stationery.
Firus Druck considered other suppliers, but none met exacting expectations. The breakthrough came after Firus Druck became one of the first companies to try Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C70hc that uses the fourth generation of Konica Minolta’s High Chroma toner. “Unlike 80 to 90% that print in CMYK only, this machine prints in the same colour as well as in the RGB colour space,” said Sebastian Firus, Managing Director of Firus Druck. “With the new High Chroma toner, we can branch out into other areas. The fantastic quality has convinced everybody. RGB is a real gamechanger and differentiates us from the competition.”
Firus Druck is now virtually an all-digital print business – and the company has never looked back. The investment in High Chroma toner has opened doors to a new customer base, such as marketing agencies, artists, photographers and designers. Stunning results have been achieved on all kinds of stationery such as business cards, postcards and letterheads, as well as calendars.
