Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe (Konica Minolta) has been marketing a range of KIP wide-format printers for a number of years. Launching the KIP System K Software Suite, for the first time KIP now introduces unified software that will be deployed on all of its wide-format devices – whether monochrome or colour – including for example the new KIP 940. Thanks to the touchscreen tablet navigation with standardized system icons, users will find working with different KIP systems simpler and more straightforward, and will benefit from the seamless control of colour and black & white print demands. Providing new-generation wide format functionality, the KIP System K Software Suite comprises a number of modules exactly tailored to customers’ needs.

With its KIP System K Software Suite, KIP puts a whole new world at its users’ fingertips. The principle of the completely new software development is the unified System K operation, which is based on tablet navigation via a new, well-structured interface with coloured buttons and various functional improvements. As of now, all new KIP devices whether colour or monochrome, will feature the new KIP K Software.

The first is the recently introduced KIP 940, a dry-toner device that offers all the advantages of the successful KIP C7800, which it replaces. As a special highlight, the new KIP 940 features highly productive print-in-one-pass. Users in a technical, graphics or office environment will appreciate the many qualities of the new KIP 940 colour and b/w wide-format print system.

And with the KIP System K software, user operation is truly intuitive thanks to a 12.1 inch wide vivid display, which reacts extremely quickly to settings, especially as KIP System K includes KIP Touch, making the setting of all system and print functions very much like using a modern tablet. User convenience of the previously logical display has been further enhanced in order to meet today’s typical user expectations. After selecting a main function in the screen, corresponding settings are illustrated at the bottom of the display so that users no longer need to browse multiple pages to make various settings. As it is self-explaining, the KIP K Software has next to no learning curve and is really easy to use even for newcomers to KIP devices.

As a definite improvement over previous software versions, users no longer need to enter a different key code for each software module. In KIP System K Software, one key code will activate all functions that the user might need. The new software also provides the possibility to download software, such as printer drivers, directly from the device. A new Windows driver offers two different views with well-positioned icons.

Another enhancement concerns the KIP Status Monitor, which now provides users with a notification for their print jobs. For users needing to print from AutoCAD, KIP offers an AutoCAD certified HDI driver, which allows printing directly out of this application. Users working in the cloud have various possibilities to connect to cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint and many more.

“The KIP System K Software Suite is a single-platform comprehensive suite that provides users with intuitive operability as well as exceptional productivity,” explains André Statkus, Product Manager Production Printing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe and outlines: ”Users will appreciate the seamless control of colour and black and white print demands under the aspect of easy usability, and will benefit from the principle of knowing one device and being able to operate all of them. The new KIP K Software follows the motto of: “I don’t want to think about it, I just need results!” – and these are child’s play to achieve with KIP’s unified tablet operation.

”Finishing is another area where KIP System K provides various enhancements: Anyone requiring the folding option will appreciate the extensive range of folding presets within the new software. User wanting to create maps benefit from the various folding presets KIP has added, which make it very easy to fold printouts after production. Especially with this novelty, KIP sets a milestone in usability for wide format devices.

Last but not least, sustainability and environmental protection are aspects that KIP shows its concern for with an extensive range of power saving setting possibilities.
