Konica Minolta strengthens position in France with acquisition of Dactyl Buro and OMR

| 18 January 2016

Subject to the prior approval of the French Competition Authority, Konica Minolta Business Solutions France S.A.S. is planning to acquire the independent printing solution distributors Dactyl Buro du Centre (headquartered in Bourges, hereinafter “Dactyl Buro”) and OMR Impression (headquartered in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, hereinafter “OMR). Upon the completion of the acquisition, the two companies will operate as wholly owned subsidiaries of Konica Minolta Business Solutions France.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions France intends to acquire a 100% stake in Dactyl Buro and OMR. Both entities will become wholly owned subsidiaries. Both Dactyl Buro and OMR are major multi-functional peripheral sales companies with more than 40 years of business expertise in their regionally focused services and solid positions in the French market. In 2010 the two companies jointly established Finance et Conseil du Centre as their holding company in order to share administrative and back-office operations and to encourage combined purchases which would further enhance their competitive advantage. In 2014 Dactyl Buro and OMR generated a turnover of € 72 million.

“We are offering Dactyl Buro and OMR the opportunity to join an innovative company that continues to create added value for its customers and whose resources will enable them to strengthen their leadership position in France”, says Jean-Claude Cornillet, Chairman of Konica Minolta Business Solutions France.

The planned acquisition is part of Konica Minolta Business Solutions France’s development plan within France, which involves consolidating Konica Minolta’s presence in the French provinces and in promising cities, as well as boosting Konica Minolta´s market share in France. In addition, the planned acquisition is in line with the Pan-European mid-term business plan of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH.
