Konica Minolta proudly announces initial sales to Cohber Press and PostcardMania with the unprecedented AccurioJet KM-1 UV Inkjet press

| 3 June 2016

Konica Minolta Business Solutions, U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) is pleased to announce at drupa, the International Trade Fair showcasing state-of-the-art technologies, the successful launch of its AccurioJet KM-1 high-speed UV Inkjet press with initial sales to North American companies Cohber Press and PostcardMania.

Designed to allow commercial printers to produce high-quality, short-run print jobs, the AccurioJet KM-1 is ideal for variable data print runs with the ability to handle up to 3,000 sheets per hour. Konica Minolta describes the model as the first UV cut-sheet Inkjet press of its kind to operate at these speeds and high level of graphic art quality. The company is the only manufacturer to offer the unprecedented 23x29 sheet size and its solution does not require pre-coated stock. Konica Minolta also developed a unique patented UV ink which allows immediate curing and greater post-press durability.

“The four-color B2+ sheet fed UV Inkjet press will help us produce high-quality digital and hybrid print jobs, capturing new market opportunities for growth and expansion,” said Eric Webber, President & CEO, Cohber Press. “It will allow us to take on new jobs, media types and transition cost effective work from offset.”

“We compared other technologies that have been on the market for years and see the AccurioJet KM-1 as the best long-term decision and growth platform for our future,” said Chris Cohber, Chief Technology Officer, Cohber Press.

“Quality is pivotal to us at PostcardMania as our 71,000+ small business customers count on us to reflect a top-notch image of their businesses to their potential clients,” said Joy Gendusa, CEO, PostcardMania. “We are excited to be one of the first companies in the world with the AccurioJet KM-1 UV Inkjet press.  The press will allow us to produce high-quality, short-run variable data print jobs at up to 1,500 perfected sheets per hour.”

“Due to the non-impact, low heat, UV Inkjet technology in the AccurioJet KM-1, our clients will capitalize on the widest flexibility of media type in a B2+ sheet size,” said Bill Troxil, Senior Vice President, Industrial Print Business, Konica Minolta Business Solutions, U.S.A., Inc. “The inkjet’s features combined with its advanced architecture result in the most optimal output.”
