Konica Minolta presents new wide format colour printer series KIP 800

After the successful launch of the wide format printer KIP 70 series in 2013, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe (Konica Minolta) presents the new KIP wide format colour printer series KIP 800. The series offers a complete portfolio of colour wide format devices with low costs as well as high quality and efficient printing. The distribution of the new series starts in Europe in October 2015 via Konica Minolta.


The KIP 800 colour series is a comprehensive wide format solution for a range of printing tasks embracing architectural, engineering to construction documents. The series consists of five different 2 and 4 roll models: two printers (KIP 850, KIP 870) and three multifunctional devices (KIP 860, KIP 880, KIP 890) which are equipped with a scanner. All models are space-saving systems that fit wherever you need it – also in tight spaces or against a wall – and delivers easy access to important documents. The portfolio is processing with the KIP K controller like all other KIP wide format printers from Konica Minolta. This renowned technology increases productivity and simplifies work processes. KIP System K software is truly intuitive thanks to a 12.1 inch wide vivid display, which reacts extremely quickly to settings, especially as KIP System K includes KIP Touch, making the setting of all system and print functions very much like using a modern tablet. Users working in the cloud have various possibilities to connect to cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint and many more.
The KIP 800 devices are ideally placed in the CAD segment as the integrated AutoCAD certified HDI AutoCAD driver to print directly out of the application.

The KIP 800 series can be purchased in different versions that suit to the various needs of wide format printers:

  • The KIP 880 and KIP 890 deliver unmatched multi-function copy, scan and print performance for high demand enterprise workflow. It is engineered to deliver vibrant consistent colour quality. KIP 890 is a 4 roll model equipped with a professional KIP 2300 scanner.
  • The KIP 850 network print system is a space-saving workgroup printer delivering fast, low cost colour as well as black and white wide format documents with breakthrough print quality.
  • The KIP 860 is ideal for environments that require convenient multi-function productivity with a single footprint space-saving design.
  • The KIP 870 workgroup and departmental print system are designed for high demand project requirements.

Perfect colour results for continuous print runs

Furthermore, the series convinces with a CMYK dry toner system which has large capacity toner cartridges for continuous print runs and productivity and produces 100 per cent waterproof and extraordinary images at the same time. The user is also supported with a working speed of 268 square meters per hour in colour or black and white, the automatic calibration and the quick switch technology of the two and four roll models. All prints and copies are also fully lightfast, and will not fade or exhibit colour deterioration from exposure to light over extended periods.

Connected devices with 12 inch touchscreen

All devices support connectivity functions with smart software solutions, cloud connections and a 12 inch wide integrated touchscreen. The screen provides the perfect viewing angle to control job queues, the systems status and printing previews. The system features and functions are always at ones fingertips while using the intuitive touchscreen navigation that automates copy, scan and print functions for single touch productivity. The wide format printers have various possibilities to connect to cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive or SharePoint. Therefore users do not have to leave their printer to perform the command functions that make the work productive.
