Spectrophotometer CM-5

CM-5

Spectrophotometer (Top port)

Versatile standalone top-port instrument with innovative easy operation
Keyboard and large LCD with wizard guidance enable easy operation for anyone without the need for a separate computer. Full range of functions for reflectance and transmittance measurements.

Introduction

Simple Operation with Advanced Functionality

The innovative operation of the CM-5 makes color measurement simple for everyone right from the start. The first screen after being switched on lets users select the Operation Wizard, which will guide them through making settings. Automatic calibration can be selected so that calibration is automatically performed immediately after power is switched on each time.

Despite its simple operation, the CM-5 is equipped with a full range of advanced functions for standalone operation and a large colour LCD that can show data not just numerically but also on spectral graphs and colour plots without the need for a separate computer. Measurements of both reflectance and transmittance are possible, and judgment of PASS/FAIL based on user-set tolerances can be performed.

Versatility for a Variety of Applications

The CM-5 and its range of accessories can handle samples in many forms. Samples in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics fields come in a wide variety of forms: Solids, pellets, powders, gelatins, and pastes as well as opaque, translucent, and transparent liquids.

Main Target Applications

  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Foods
  • Chemicals
  • Cosmetics

For the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the CM-5 includes the ability to take measurements according to several standard indices: Gardner, Hazen/APHA, Iodine Color Number, European Pharmacopoeia, and US Pharmacopeia using built-in calibration curves.

Avoid multi-user confusion. For multiple-user situations, the CM-5 can store and later recall settings using USB memory sticks, and data can also be stored on USB memory sticks for later analysis on a computer.
