Among the top green companies

Konica Minolta has made it to a leading position in the overall ranking of the 15th Environmental Management Survey by the Japanese news company Nikkei Publishing Inc. The imaging expert is ranked 12th of 1,744 manufacturers and leads the field in three out of five of the survey’s criteria. With this result, Konica Minolta is the highest-ranked provider of image information products.

Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. is ranked 12th in the 15th Environmental Management Survey released in January 2012. With this outstanding result the leading imaging expert has improved its performance by seven places since last year’s survey. Nikkei Publishing Inc. has conducted the survey annually since 1997.

For the 2011 survey 1,744 manufacturing companies were evaluated according to the following criteria: environmental management promotion system, pollution prevention measures and biodiversity conservation, resource recycling and product-related measures, and global warming prevention measures. Konica Minolta led the field in the first three of these categories and is the highest-ranked provider of image information products.

Seen in the right proportion, twelfth place among so many companies means that Konica Minolta belongs to the leading one per cent of companies for environmental performance," says Olaf Lorenz, General Manager International Marketing Division at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. "That is mind-boggling enough already, but we also have made it to the first place in three out of five criteria."
